We ( me, my wife, and my buddy Ben Hylton---he owns Blue Duck, a PBR finals bull ) left last Friday headed to Oklahoma to pick up our new bucking chutes. We ran thru a lot of rain and the chutes werent quite done, so my good buddy Burt Wallington got us some tickets to the OK City PBR Challenger tour finals. We all went to eat at the Cattleman in OK City. We tried lamb fries ( calf testicles ) as an appetizer.....it was a blast watching Burt try to choke one down ! We went back to the motel and met up with Jerry Hargis. We all went up to the room and while we were shooting the breeze,Jerry unzips his duffle bag and to our suprise, out jumps a cute lil miniature doberman ! We all got a kick out of it.We then went on to the coliseum and watched a real good bullriding. The biggest news of the night....my wife informs me shes pregnant ! I'm absolutely tickled to death !
The next day we went and picked up our chutes and then went over to Derrel Hargis' new place and saw some real nice calves ! Hes a got a super nice set-up. We then went on to eat in Ada at Doc's Place, and headed on to Alabama to pick up a cow dog. We stopped in Arkansas and were going to breakfast, when a guy a walked up and got to talking, next thing ya know, we knew each other( from here on the breeders connection ). It was Mark Lindsay ! We had breakfast and headed into Alabama. We went to another breeders connection members house, Danny Cerezzo and picked up a Catahoula ! He showed us the pup, then we watched the pup pen a herd of bulls, put them in a lot and wouldnt let them out ! That was good enough for me, and I was tickled. We finally headed on home and enjoyed every second of it.
We got to see a lot of friends and lots of them were folks we may have never met, had it not been for this board. All in all, it was a blast !
Sorry to rant, but I had to tell it to somebody.
