This evening at 6:30 pm this old world lost a Great Farm hand. He had farmed his whole life. This past November on a warm day he made his last rounds on his Massey Ferguson tractor raking hay. Even back in the heat of the summer he would cut hay till 10 or 11pm at night. Be back up the next morning bright an early working in his garden making a crop so he could share it with the neighbors, then about 10 or 11 in the morning fuel his tractor up and start making wind rows. He loved farming raising cattle and bailing hay. Most of all he loved his Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He was the best man that I have ever known. In my 42 years I have never heard anyone have anything but good things to say about him. Most of them talk about things that he has done to help them out. Or just being a trusted friend to them. All of us respected him for the life that he lived. Tonight I lost one of my best friends. He used to take me hunting and fishing when I was a kid. But, my fondest memories will be him on his old tractor raking hay this past summer at 90 years of age. Thats right, he turned 90 this past November and still had the strength and will to be in the hay field this past summer when it was 100 degrees out. He thanked the Lord every day for his strength and the Lord blessed him with 90 great years. He was once quoted in the local news paper saying that he would rather make hay than eat ice cream in a cool shade. This Great Man Carl Hedden was my Grandpa and I will miss him dearly.

Well I can say Mr. Carl was a personal friend of mine that was loved by more people than most people even know. Bruce could have stayed on here all day telling good & amazing things about him. One thing for sure if you knew him you know where he is now & who he is with. My prayers are with you all.

My First Christmas In Heaven

I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny light like Heavens reflecting in the snow.
The sight is so spectacular, please wipe away the tear,
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear,
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here.
I have no words to tell you, the joy the voices bring,
For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me,
I see the pain inside your heart,
But I am not so far away,
We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me dear ones,
You know I hold you dear,
And be glad I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above,
I sent you each a memory of my undying love.
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold,
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.
Please love and keep each other, as my father said to do,
For I can't count the blessings or love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear,
Remember, I am spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

Bruce im sorry to hear of your loss. Sounds like your grandpa lived his life and enjoyed it. Its sad when we lose loved ones but when you hear the storys and tales of him working and doing the things he loved its gotta make you smile knowing he had a good life and was as successful as a man can be. Its easy to see why you are the man you are today as I read your post. I will have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers this Chrismas holiday.
