Consider yourself blessed b/c we haven't had any substantial rain for about a month in a half now. And the next seven days does not have any showing.

mountains even got a dusting of snow a few weeks ago. More like monsoon season here but that's not for another 3 months (I hope!).

Bill I have been thinking of you out there in the flames. I have not heard anything about assistance yalls way. What is the Governor or his brother going to do to help out.

For those of you that have never fought a wildfire...... Well you don't want to. Believe you me you don't want to. Hell on earth!!!!

Keith,
So far it's been mostly in uninhabited areas. THe smoke can be bad depending on the winds. About all that can be done is keep them away from towwns. We need a tropical depression or hurricane to come in.
Part of the problem in fighting it is lack of manpower, as the NAt'l Guard used to do that.

We got a new Gov in January.

Hello,Hello, I hate to say it, but Bill is right. It may take a hurricane to break our drought. I had to buy hay today, the pasture is looking bad, and hay is in limited amounts if you can find it down here.

We've been pretty dry up till now. Our northern forest area was really dry and was just waiting to go up in flames. Now we're finally getting some rain and looks like several days of it. A state like Minnesota, with over 15000 lakes, should never be dry.., it just don't seem right!

Ask again about mid-July. I'm sure it'll be a completely different story.

Got about 3/4" yesterday, in about 30 minutes. My Uncle was in the hay field at the time, but was glad to get it anyway. Only had about 25 bales that didn't get rolled up. He needs the rain at his house for his watermelon field.

I got about an inch last night. The last 3 or 4 years were pretty dry in central Texas. This year so far so good. I hope everyone gets what they need. Good Luck

It has rained enough earlier in the year to last a good while. We have around 125 round bales off the first cutting this past weekend. Rained about 3/4 inch this morning, had to cancel the fertilizer truck coming back out.

Got 4 inches in one day-- 2 Sundays ago. Then have gotten a little over an inch since then. IT is REALLY wet north east of us. They are flooded. But, u are right, fires are no fun. I would rather see it flood than have to fight fires. God be with you guys. Hay and crops look good here.
God bless, Jen

We have sunflowers ten feet tall down here in south Texs. dont want them, but can probably make more out of dove hunting than bull raising. We are still having rains. HS
