How long do you wait to breed your cows back after they calve? I also have a really small 2 year old Superfly/Coffee cross heifer that has never been bred. Since she is so small, what bloodlines would you think make a good breeding prospect? I was thinking along the lines of either a coffee bred or plummer bred bull. I don't have much reasoning behind this other than that is what my inexperience in this business is telling me. What are some of the bloodlines that produce small calves that grow into a larger cow/bull? I would want to put some size into my breeding program but not hurt my heifer in the porocess. Keep in mind that if/when the heifer calved there probably will not be anyone around to pull the calf if it was too big for her to have on her own. I am a newbie at the breeding end and hope this is not a stupid question. I am just trying to expand my knowledge. I would appreciate the comments.
