Our ration has soybean meal in it and it a 5:1 ratio with corn...I am sure any grain or other sweet feed would be alright 5:1 as long as the grain already doesnt have a ton of protein by itself.

I guess I am not familiar with 4 way....
5:1 means 5 parts corn or other grain to 1 part soybean meal.

So if you feed 1 gallon corn, then you need a 1/5 gallon soybean meal.....we just add molasess to cut down on the dust and make it a little moister.
How many bulls are you feeding? If its more than a few, I would just have the local elevator mix up a ration for you so you dont have to do it manually.

I am feeding 4 bulls right now but we are planning on getting 3 more soon 3 of them are 2 year olds and the 4th is a 3 year old. What type of feed do you mix with your soybean meal Maybe I can get my bulls on the same stuff Many contractors out here on the Navajo Reservation don't know nothing about feeding bulls or conditioning the right ways. All they do is feed whatever hay they can find and whatever feed they can find that's the cheapest. I want to be different and take after you contractors that look at their nutrition and health so this way my bulls really perform to high expectations.

Dino good for you, Nutrition is so important in these animals performance. You might have a local feed place mix you up a blend of feed that is good and has the requirements needed for your bulls.. Remember like Jen said you dont want to overload them with protein. You can contact your county farm agent and he could advise you on your forage in your pasture as far as what type of content it has. some areas the pastures are low on selenium, others very high, selenium is very important in your animals, especially cows that are being bred. So contact your local county farm agent, they can advise you on those types of things.
