View Full Version : UPS Shipping
I was reading another thread on here about UPS losing a semen shipment. I was just curious, since I am still not actively in the business, how much does UPS charge for shipping something like that? I know it varies on distance, but what is an average?

John it does vary.. if you ever do a shipment.. try and find out if someone else is shipping to and from the same place as you, then you split the charges
welcome to the biz.. if I can help you with anything just give me a shout:)

I think we paid a little over a hundred to have the tank sent from Champion in Texas to our AI guy in Ohio. Ours was the thread you probably read where they lost the tank and everything was ruined by the time they found it. It sucks to pay that much for shipping and UPS not do there part to take care of something that high in value, but I think what happened to us is pretty rare. Atleast I hope so anyway!
Good Luck getting started!

Pay the extra (alot) and have it shipped next day or 2nd day air. UPS will not insure perishables either. In Albuquerque when I worked there I've seen up to 20 tanks sitting there at anyone time. All of these were going to just 2 dairies. Easy to get them confused.
