I'm getting ready to transfer to UC Davis for there large animal vet school, and im wondering if anyone could give me advise on what to expect or whats it like. Im getting nervous lol. I'm planning on becoming a meat animal vet, specializing in cattle (beef dairy and rodeo) and/or orthopedics (or maybe pathology im looking into that and it seems interesting) and opening my own practice, though Ive also been told its better to have your own truck and drive around idk. I'm just planning for the future and im excited. Any thoughts or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thank you:D

No information, but a big CONGRATULATIONS!

Until I hit Organic Chemistry :banghead: it was my dream to go to veterinary school at K-State.

From what I understand a lot of the new crop of vet students and recent graduates have AR leanings; hopefully you'll be able to show them that the "information" from the AR movement is half-truths :bs: at best and at worst outright lies.

Thank you very much.

I read about that recently, most of those students are small animal vets who think they know everything about cattle and have never been around farm animals a day in there life. Same goes for the rodeo animals, Its rather annoying really :banghead:

I think there's a real need out there for large animal vets. It's hard when you have an emergency to find one that will make it out quickly if at all.

I know there is one vet in my area that does cattle, but she also does goats, sheep and horses and is stretched pretty thin. The other one only does horses, and i heard she is retiring.

FYI- My large animal vets all tell me they work on small animals too because it pays better.
