View Full Version : Red Knection Bulls
I'm doing some research, and I am especially interested in the bulls from Red Knection. I believe they are from the Katich bloodlines. I've been to their website, but I am hoping some of you can give me some information on them. I'd appreciate it.

Call Steve and Karlene- you won't find anybody knows more about it than they do- nor will you find nicer people anywhere and thats a fact!
Thanks, Leftlane. I'll call them. I just love those red bulls.
Steve can tell you a real interesting story, Geat people and even greater animals ! Most of our cow herd is based on their blood lines. McKellar Jose, 932 Sultan, Dr. Proctor, 276ra, 12ra, 124ra, 84ra , 72ra. Those Brahmans are really special animals! RKO

Jaye,
Were you able to get a hold of the Katich's and find the information that you were looking for? They are some of the nicest folks in the business and are true originals. Not to many breeders can say that they have stuck with their own bloodlines and made it work without out crossing. Your just now starting to see some outcrossing in their stock but not much.

Ed, I assume that you are AIing with Rapid Fire semen. Do you have anymore that you may be interested in selling? I have a friend looking and there isn't much out there from the older bulls (Rapid Fire, Dogface...) I have a lot of their lines in mine as well. I like the size it adds to the animals.

We've been friends for many years and they themselves do not have semen from the old bulls either. They have some from their sires but not from the buckers. Donny sends everyone to Milt, and Steve send you to Donny. Milt Bradford has a little but he is using it for himself. There in lies the problem. If you have any from the old big red monsters, I could probably help find a home for it.
I was telling Steve Sunday, how funny it is when he and Sorrell come to town and how the public takes notice of their animals ! Speakes highly of their breeding program and them as people ! Ed' looking at the Yellow Jacket over the 932 daughter we're doing !
Susie and I are really fortunate to have these people as friends and mentors in this business !! The cows they have allowed us to have are tough, but highly intelligent animals , that have really produced above our expectations!!! Be fun to watch them in Billings -- might be a surprise in store !! Wonder what Bone Colector or Night Life over one on these red mulies would do ?

Did you have any luck with the Red Mac X Yellow Jacket/Speckled Bird embryos I sold you?
We got some Sultan and Rapid Fire out of the same cow recently.
You got Ed to part with his stws.!! The ones I put in didn't take . RKO

Sorry... That is no good. I saw Randy Routier had a heifer out of that flush out of that bunch of embryos. She looks really good.
Randy has had luck with a few he's got from us! Really out standing heifer ! How's a person get a hold of you, your number is no good . RKO

Thanks for the embryos and complements guys. Now would you outcross her or stay with the big red program?

Thanks. I did not realize I had not changed my phone number. For some reason, my X wife will not continue to pay for that number.????
Randy,
I have had a lot of luck outcrossing heifers like that with my Coat 45 bull. He is Rafter 7r breeding out of 14 Chaos. I am sure there are lots of combinations, but I think you will get too much brahman if you go back with the big reds on the first generation. Whitewater lines would be good too. That is just my experience.

I've been talking to Lex Katich some. They are nice people for sure. It is interesting how they've developed their own line and done so well with it. I appreciate everyone's help.
