Fort Worth, Texas (December 15, 2008) ~ Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) is pleased to announce the Top 5 Bulls for the coveted CBR Bucking Bull of the Year award.
As previously announced, this year’s Bucking Bull of the Year will receive the customary Hy-O Silver buckle as well as the additional $5000 cash bonus which is the most lucrative pot in CBR history for this award. The competition is fierce for the top spot which will be announced during the CBR World Championships held on January 23-24, 2009 at the South Point Casino in Las
Vegas, Nevada.
Apollo, a four year old bull owned by Alvin Jones of Jones Rodeo Genetics, is one of the contenders. He has been unridden in his CBR career, and has a slew of awards to back up his superb performance including the 2007 CBR Bull of the Finals.
Cochise, owned by Tut Henry of Klein Brothers Pro Rodeo, is another contender for the coveted prize. His average judge’s score is 23.1875, and he is a real crowd pleaser. He was selected to compete as the bounty bull in CLS Match of Champions competition at the 2007 CBR World Finals, where he claimed the title.
Full Throttle, owned by Alan Murphy of Murphy Ranch and Rodeo, has bucked in all of the CBR events in 2008. He has been ridden only one time, at the CBR Tuff Hedeman Championship Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas for a score of 90 points.
Hasta Luego, is a five year old horned black bull owned by Rich and Lily Bumbaca of Bumbaca’s RBL Rodeo Bulls. During the 2008 season, he’s only been ridden three times for scores of 93, 92 and 91. He has a reputation for being a mean bull in the arena, but is also very proud and likes to show off for the crowd.
Shakedown is the final contender for the Bucking Bull of the Year award. Owned by Benny Cude of Benny Cude Bucking Bulls, he has an average judge’s score of 22.875, and is currently unridden in his CBR career.
With a pen of bulls this great competing for the title of Bucking Bull of the Year, the competition is even more fierce this year than ever before!
