Fort Worth, Texas (December 15, 2008) ~ Championship Bull Riding, Inc. (CBR) is pleased to announce the Top 5 Bulls for the coveted CBR Bucking Bull of the Year award.

As previously announced, this year’s Bucking Bull of the Year will receive the customary Hy-O Silver buckle as well as the additional $5000 cash bonus which is the most lucrative pot in CBR history for this award. The competition is fierce for the top spot which will be announced during the CBR World Championships held on January 23-24, 2009 at the South Point Casino in Las
Vegas, Nevada.

Apollo, a four year old bull owned by Alvin Jones of Jones Rodeo Genetics, is one of the contenders. He has been unridden in his CBR career, and has a slew of awards to back up his superb performance including the 2007 CBR Bull of the Finals.

Cochise, owned by Tut Henry of Klein Brothers Pro Rodeo, is another contender for the coveted prize. His average judge’s score is 23.1875, and he is a real crowd pleaser. He was selected to compete as the bounty bull in CLS Match of Champions competition at the 2007 CBR World Finals, where he claimed the title.

Full Throttle, owned by Alan Murphy of Murphy Ranch and Rodeo, has bucked in all of the CBR events in 2008. He has been ridden only one time, at the CBR Tuff Hedeman Championship Challenge in Fort Worth, Texas for a score of 90 points.

Hasta Luego, is a five year old horned black bull owned by Rich and Lily Bumbaca of Bumbaca’s RBL Rodeo Bulls. During the 2008 season, he’s only been ridden three times for scores of 93, 92 and 91. He has a reputation for being a mean bull in the arena, but is also very proud and likes to show off for the crowd.

Shakedown is the final contender for the Bucking Bull of the Year award. Owned by Benny Cude of Benny Cude Bucking Bulls, he has an average judge’s score of 22.875, and is currently unridden in his CBR career.

With a pen of bulls this great competing for the title of Bucking Bull of the Year, the competition is even more fierce this year than ever before!

These are some great bulls! I really like how the CBR tends to give you a bit of information on the bull's personality. I've noticed it on their web site too. Looking forward to their Finals in January. Bet their bulls won't be disappointing!

1. Cochise
2. Shakedown (my personal favorite right now).
3. Hasta Luego
4. Full Throttle
5. Apollo

That's how I would rank the five. Apollo started off great, but he slowed a little towards the end of the year. He is still very young, and all the futurities and classics may have worn him down or something. He is still going to be a great one for years to come, however.

This is a great set of bulls and I am proud to have them at CBR Events. Should be interesting to see how the riders vote. They will decide the winner based on the bull's performance throughout the year. Good luck to all of the contractors! Great set of guys!! The winner gets the HY-O Buckle and a $5000 bonus. Hope to keep increasing the bonuses for the contractors and riders! I don't want anyone to get mad at me but we will be announcing the BIGGEST ANNOUNCEMENT IN CBR HISTORY after the first of the year. Stay tuned. You'll like it! Hope to see everyone in Vegas. It's gonna be a great time!

Live tv has it's drawbacks, especially for the fans at the event itself. Buck three bulls and take a three minute break, buck four bulls and take another break, etc. We'll be showing all of the rides not just a few! It's a lot better news than that Scott.

Thanks all of yall!!! Me and the entire town is proud of him. He is a little super star over here! I am thankful that the CBR is giving him this opportunity as well. :hurray: I hope he does win, but he has some stiff competition in the running and them guys are just as proud and deserve credit for outstanding bulls as well. I dont want to get my hopes up, anything can still happen. I made a lot of sacrifices in my life to finally get one in this position and I wouldnt trade this feeling for anything in this world.
