Bullfights coming to Agri-plex
Dates for fights, concert announced
Ada — Chickasaw Nation announces the World Championship Rodeo Bullfight Finals and Concert Oct. 17-18 at the Pontotoc County Agri-plex in Ada. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and bullfights at 8 p.m.
The nation’s top 15 bullfighters and current world champion Andy Burelle and past champion Wacey Munsel will be competing for a purse of $16,000 plus a $5,000 bonus for the bonus for the winner and a Gist Gold World Champion Buckle valued at $4,500.
The bullfighters had better be ready because Rex Dunn family is bringing two truck loads of fighting bulls that are the worst in captivity, according to sponsors.
Beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, the Anchormen Gospel Quartet takes the stage to entertain with their songs of all types of music including Southern Gospel.
In concert Saturday night, Oct. 18, David Ball will begin performing at 7:30 p.m. featuring his longtime list of number one hits.
Back by popular demand, Keith Isley will be here to amuse spectators of all ages.
The “Voice” of the World Championship Bullfight Finals and Hall of Fame Rodeo Announcer Hadley Barrett, with his distinctive and smooth voice will call the action.
Hadley will be inducted into the National Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma City Oct. 26.
Advance tickets are on sale at Steppin’ Out Western Store in Ada and Wynnewood and Sharpe’s Department store in Ada for $15 each. Seating is limited.
