Being a female bull rider in NY, it's hard to find a practice pen or events in my area that is close enough.
To the point. This stock contractor refuses to let girls ride. No rule about it, no anything. He's had to cancel his bull riding practice due to people not showing up. He's desperately needs riders.
He's got an event coming up, should I call and try to enter? Or should I contact his sponsors to ride in the event?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance.

I would respect his stance and move on. If you are not wanted there go where you are wanted.
Going behind his back to his sponsors is not really the 'cowboy' way and will only lose you respect in the longrun.
Good luck

It' not hat I'm going behind his back, I want to ride bulls, this guy is my only chance.

How many bulls have you been on ? There are numerous different practice pens in the PA, MD and VA areas also.

I've been on 3 different bulls, but have ridden 15+ times or so.
If you know of any pens in PA I'd love to hear about hem.

If you ever move closer to Indiana give me a call. I buck bulls once a week here at the house. You are more than welcome to come get on here.
If your really going to try and go after this you may have to move

Buckhorn in Slippery Rock PA bucks bulls every Friday through the winter, also Dave Martin ( around Mercer ) Talk with Tracy English, he lives in NY. Pretty stand up guy. I agree if your not wanted even if you ride, you have to remember there are politics in bullriding also ( reflects your score ) There are plenty of places to get on bulls, maybe consider joining an association.

I think you need to enroll in a college that has bullriding ( Rodeo teams ),you get all the bulls you will want to ride, maybe a scholarship

The intercolligate rodeo org. won't let women ride in the roughstock events. i looked it up before. For gals to ride they have to find a practice pen and/or turn 18 in order to ride in the PBR/PRCA/ and other local organizations which have a minimum age of 18. Its tough but stick with it and don't give up. I'm sure you'll find somethin.

Thanks Stef,
It really is hard out there for woman. But, I am not giving up. I've been to two events and the last one I came in fourth. I'd have events thru out the year if I could drive myself. I'm only 15 and I am not old enough to go to college.
